The other day I was reminded by Linkedin that I had achieved my 2 year anniversary in my current role, and for some odd reason the ending of the preamble for Star Trek: The Original Series came to mind, “To boldly go where no man has gone before”.
Initially I thought that it was a tenuous link, but after having mulled over it, I concluded that it wasn’t. Although a slight modification was needed: I boldly joined Giant Digital (formerly known as Farm Digital) in September 2018, and I have learnt and experienced many new things that I didn’t know before.
In my humble opinion, I believe that I have grown as a Software Engineer over the last 2 years, and that my problem solving skills are much more advanced.
My progress is due to the mentoring and guidance of the Senior Developers at Giant; and to my CTO who has encouraged me to tackle bigger projects, and who also has taken the time to have constructive one to one sessions with me.
After saying all of the above I still feel as though I have soo much more to learn, and I look forward to the future with great expectations.
However for now...
